TRANSFORMATIONAL
BREATHWORK
FOR HEALING

"The time for healing old patterns and stuck energy is now. Self-love is waiting to be discovered and awakened within. It's the key to healing."
- David Elliott

The breathwork I offer as a healing session is an active meditation that has the potential to quickly move a person out of the thinking mind and into an experience of pure awareness and sensation in the body, rapidly clearing stuck emotions, physical issues and past traumas in a safe way.
It has been described by many as a practice that accomplishes releasing and work in your life that talk therapy and strong effort on yourself would take years to reach.

What happens in a session?

*At the time of this writing, I’m offering session via Zoom only.

We begin with approximately 20 minutes of talking about what is currently going on for you and where you feel stuck or need movement or healing in your life.

We then move into the active breathwork portion of the session - you’ll lie down on a comfortable surface such as the floor, a massage table, even a bed. I’ll ask you to cover your eyes ideally, and then you’ll begin to relax.
I usually play music - you can request quiet if you prefer.

The active breathwork involves a two-part inhale and single exhale through the mouth. You’ll breath for 20-30 minutes, and then move into a rest and relaxation phase.

While every experience is unique - It is common to have physical and emotional releases during the work - some people cry, some laugh, some yell and some go into physical movements of the body as it begins to release blockages. Most people feel quite shifted after a session.

We close the session by briefly checking in about how you’re feeling. I welcome you to journal about your experience on your own after the session, to support integration. If you have anything to share from your journaling, you’re welcome to email me.

The entire session lasts 45-60 minutes.

*This is a strong breathing method, so come ready to actively breath and release what needs releasing. I am there with you every step of the way to witness and support you in the work. Please don’t eat right before the session, it’s best if your stomach isn’t full. Please make sure you have private, uninterrupted space for the duration of the session, as if you are with me in my healing room.

How is this different that other breathwork or pranayama?

There are countless breathwork traditions, many of them going back thousands of years. I’ve practiced many pranayama techniques offered to me by my teachers for more than 20 years. They’re deep, and I’ve found them to be good medicine. They also take the discipline of daily practice to bear fruit. I like to combine these guided sessions with you breathing on your own at home. We can discuss which methods are best for your self-practice.
